Italy health initiatives focus on prevention and disease awareness
Various health and community initiatives are being conducted across Italy, focusing on prevention and awareness. In Cagliari, the ‘Fism for People’ project provided over 300 free specialist screenings and counseling sessions to promote early diagnosis and equitable access to healthcare.
In Milan, Sobi Italia launched the ‘Rare means Care’ campaign with an orange monolith installation in the CityLife district to raise awareness about rare kidney diseases, such as C3G and primary IC-MPGN. Meanwhile, in Treviso, a collaboration between Coldiretti and ULSS 2 is promoting healthy eating through a local farmers' market at the Ca’ Foncello hospital.
Vision health is also a priority, with free eye exams organized in Rimini and awareness exhibitions in Lodi. In Sicily, specialists have raised alarms regarding the high number of civil blindness cases compared to other regions. Other local efforts include pediatric emergency training in Cuneo, blood donation and health screenings in Guagnano, and a large-scale health day in Ordona.
