Milas infrastructure projects launched to improve sewage and water systems
MUSKİ Genel Müdürlüğü, under the direction of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, has launched infrastructure projects in the Milas district to address long-standing sewage and water issues.
In the Menteş neighborhood, the first stage of a new sewage system project has begun. This initial phase involves the installation of a 3,000-meter sewage line to replace the septic systems currently used by residents. The project aims to eliminate environmental and health concerns caused by septic tank overflows, odors, and insect infestations, while reducing the financial burden on residents who previously relied on vacuum trucks.
Simultaneously, infrastructure improvements are underway in the Akyol neighborhood to resolve drinking water shortages and high lime content. The project includes a new drilling operation and the installation of 4,500 meters of piping, consisting of a 2,500-meter transmission line and a 2,000-meter network line. These upgrades are intended to minimize water outages during summer months and reduce equipment damage caused by high lime levels, which has previously impacted local livestock farming operations.
