Muğla provincial water and sewage infrastructure projects
Overview
The Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, through its Water and Wastewater Directorate (MUSKİ), has initiated several infrastructure projects to improve water and sewage systems across the province.
In Marmaris, specifically the Osmaniye neighborhood, authorities began relocating a 1,250-meter section of drinking-water pipe from private property to public right-of-way. This move aims to facilitate easier maintenance, reduce leaks, and prevent damage to agricultural plots.
In the Milas district, projects have expanded to address sewage and water quality. In the Menteş neighborhood, a new 3,000-meter sewage line is being installed to replace septic systems and mitigate environmental and health issues. Meanwhile, in the Akyol neighborhood, efforts to resolve water shortages and high lime content include new drilling operations and the installation of 4,500 meters of piping. These upgrades are intended to minimize summer water outages and protect livestock farming equipment from lime-related damage.
