Military aircraft activity causes loud booms across Łódź region

Residents in the Łódź region, including Łódź, Bełchatów, and Piotrków County, reported hearing powerful, consecutive booms that caused window panes to shake. The loud noises occurred on Wednesday, September 23, at approximately 07:15 and again after 18:00.

The Operational Command of the Armed Forces issued statements explaining that the sounds are linked to military aviation operations in Polish airspace. These operations are preventive measures taken in response to Russian Federation strikes on Ukrainian territory using aerial assets.

Authorities confirmed that necessary forces and resources have been deployed, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached a state of readiness to secure and protect Polish airspace. The military emphasized that these actions are precautionary and aimed at monitoring the current situation.
