Military aircraft transports martyr remains for DNA testing

On August 21, a military CASA-295 transport aircraft completed a special mission, transporting 7,104 biological samples of martyr remains from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to Gia Lam Airport in Hanoi.

The samples, weighing approximately 1,300 kg, were packed into 100 specialized containers covered with the national flag. Following a memorial ceremony at the military station, the remains were transported to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology for DNA testing to identify the fallen soldiers.

The mission was coordinated by the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyr Remains in collaboration with the Air Force Command.
