Military leaders visit Mogadishu to bolster Somali security
Military leaders from Djibouti and the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) have arrived in Mogadishu to bolster Somalia's security and counter-terrorism efforts.
Djiboutian Chief of Staff General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to discuss security cooperation and the coordination of operations under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). The discussions focused on strengthening defense ties and addressing security challenges in the Horn of Africa.
Simultaneously, IMCTC Secretary General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi arrived to launch a series of projects designed to enhance Somali security agency capabilities. These initiatives include institutional capacity-building and a media-focused security program aimed at improving professional reporting on terrorism and peace issues. The IMCTC visit involves coordination with various Somali ministries and international partners, including the United Nations and the African Union.
