Ana Brnabić involved in street confrontation in Belgrade

Ana Brnabić, the acting President of Serbia and President of the National Assembly, was filmed in a heated verbal confrontation with citizens on the streets of Belgrade following the announcement of parliamentary election results. The incident occurred as crowds were celebrating the victory of the 'Studentska lista' (Student List), which defeated the incumbent government led by Aleksandar Vučić.

Video footage shows Brnabić approaching a group of young men to confront them regarding alleged insults she heard while passing by. During the exchange, Brnabić used profanity and asked the individuals, “Am I a [slur]?”, and “Do you want to ride me? Do you want to beat me?”. One man responded that the insults were directed at all government representatives and stated that everyone would answer before the court for their actions.

Other reports indicate the confrontation escalated when Brnabić stood in the middle of the road amidst traffic, shouting, “Run over me! Run over me!”. Witnesses noted that she refused to shake hands with citizens who attempted to de-escalate the situation. The incident has drawn significant public reaction on social media following the historic political shift in Serbia.
