Minami: An Extraordinary Lawyer premieres as Japanese remake

The Japanese television drama ‘Minami: An Extraordinary Lawyer’ has premiered on Fuji TV and Netflix, serving as an official remake of the hit South Korean series ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’. Starring Mana Ashida as Minami, a brilliant lawyer on the autism spectrum, the production adapts the original premise to a Japanese corporate and cultural setting.

In this version, the protagonist is a top graduate of the University of Tokyo who faces structural prejudice while working at the prestigious Hirokawa & Howard law firm. The series features unique creative departures from the original, such as replacing the iconic revolving door scene with an escalator sequence to depict the protagonist's sensory challenges. The drama is co-starring Fumiya Takahashi and is currently being broadcast and streamed.
