Minas Gerais cities roll out intensive multivaccination campaigns in June

The municipal health secretariats of João Monlevade and Divinópolis in Minas Gerais have launched extensive vaccination drives that run through June. In Monlevade, the Secretariat of Health is participating in the state’s multivaccination campaign, aiming to update the vaccination cards of children and adolescents under 15. A heightened mobilisation is planned for 15–19 June, with a “Day D” on 20 June to boost coverage. All vaccines listed in the national calendar are offered at local health units, including a trivalent influenza vaccine for anyone aged six months and older.

In Divinópolis, the municipality announced a schedule of Vacimóvel (mobile vaccination units), itinerant vaccination teams, and a Mobile Pharmacy operating from 7 June to the end of the month. Services are provided at schools, workplaces, community centres and rural areas without the need for prior appointments, requiring only identification. The program also supplies medications through the Mobile Pharmacy, with specific dates and locations listed for each site.

Both initiatives are part of Minas Gerais’ broader effort to increase immunisation coverage and facilitate access to vaccines and medicines for the local population.
