Minas Gerais launches R$ 20 million program for public sector innovation
The Government of Minas Gerais has launched the second edition of the HubMG Gov program, allocating R$ 20 million to foster open innovation and technological solutions for public sector challenges. Coordinated by the State Secretariat for Economic Development (Sede-MG) in partnership with the Minas Gerais Research Support Foundation (Fapemig), the initiative targets companies, startups, cooperatives, and scientific and technological institutions.
The program presents 22 specific challenges identified by state public agencies. Funding is divided into two categories: Category A for scientific research and methodologies, with grants up to R$ 1 million, and Category B for technological development, with grants up to R$ 2 million. These are non-reimbursable resources. Interested parties must register through Fapemig’s Everest system, with a 60-day window for the proposal and interest expression process.
