Minas Gerais gubernatorial candidates present security plans

Candidates for the governorship of Minas Gerais have submitted their official government plans, including specific proposals for public security, in compliance with electoral laws.

Patrus Ananias (PT) proposes creating a state Unified Public Security System (SUSP) focused on intelligence and human rights. His platform includes combating the finances of organized crime, expanding services for women, and the progressive adoption of body cameras.

Alexandre Kalil (PDT) suggests redistributing personnel within Integrated Public Security Regions (RISPs) and implementing a ‘Digital Wall’ alongside body cameras. He emphasizes professional valorization for security forces and supporting APACs for prisoner reintegration.

Other candidates include Cleitinho (Republicanos) and Flávio Roscoe (PL), who advocate for unifying databases between police, firefighters, and the prison system to target money laundering. Gabriel Azevedo (MDB) proposes an Integrated Criminal Intelligence Center, while Mateus Simões (PSD) focuses on border monitoring and forensic technology.

More radical proposals for the de-militarization of police forces were presented by Indira Xavier (UP), Professor Túlio Lopes (PCB), and Rafael Duda (PSTU). Henrique Áreas (PCO) proposed the extinction of the Military Police.
