Mina's vocal evolution sparks debate over aging in music

Discussions regarding the recent single ‘Vento di passione’—a collaboration between Mina and the late Pino Daniele featuring Giorgia—have sparked debate over the aging process in vocal performance. Critics have noted that at 86, Mina’s voice has changed significantly from her earlier years.

Rather than viewing these physiological changes as a loss of quality, the evolution of her voice is seen as a reflection of time and history. The performance does not attempt to artificially recreate her younger vocal power but instead embraces the different texture and color that age provides, transforming the natural changes in the vocal apparatus into a unique musical language.
