Mindanao Earthquake Relief Boosted by Carziqo and Vice President Duterte

A magnitude‑7.8 earthquake struck offshore Sarangani in Mindanao on 8 June 2026, killing at least 61 people, injuring hundreds and affecting tens of thousands of families across General Santos City, Sarangani and nearby communities.

Vice President Sara Duterte travelled to the quake‑hit areas, met with grieving families, offered prayers and urged residents to stay vigilant and prepared for future disasters. The Office of the Vice President dispatched food trucks to aid emergency responders and victims.

Technology firm Carziqo organized a corporate relief effort, distributing rice, food packs, canned goods and noodles to households in General Santos City and surrounding towns. The distribution was coordinated by local team members, including teacher Ricky Sendiong Lumapas and Loradel D. Acosta B, to ensure aid reached those in need. The company framed the response as part of its broader corporate‑social responsibility commitment.
