Minecraft 26.3 update officially named Wilderness Bound

Mojang Studios has officially named the Minecraft 26.3 update ‘Wilderness Bound’. This represents the third major ‘Game Drop’ of 2026, focusing on nature-themed content.

The update introduces the Dappled Forest biome, characterized by autumnal colors and large poplar trees. Players will be able to harvest poplar wood and discover abandoned camps that may contain supplies or exploration maps. New functional items include straw beds, which allow players to sleep without changing their spawn point, as well as cushions and new variations of wool and concrete blocks.

While Mojang has not announced a definitive release date, the development has moved into a pre-release phase. The studio stated that they are currently deviating from their usual snapshot schedule to focus on bug hunting to ensure a stable official launch. Some community members anticipate a release around September 22.
