Mineiros: Three-year-old boy drowns in dam in rural Goiás
A three-year-old boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) died by drowning in a dam located in the rural region of Salto Diamantino, in the municipality of Mineiros, Goiás.
The incident occurred on a Saturday while the child was playing in a yard. After the child's mother went inside to prepare a snack, she discovered he had disappeared. The father located the boy in a dam approximately 100 meters from the farm headquarters after being alerted by the family dog's barking.
Despite immediate resuscitation attempts by the father, the 16th Military Firefighters Battalion confirmed the child was deceased upon arrival. The Legal Medical Institute (IML) was called to the scene to conduct forensics and complete legal procedures.
