Miners protest unpaid wages in Ankara

Miners from Doruk Madencilik and Elazığ Eti Gümüş, both under Yıldızlar SSS Holding, are continuing their protest in front of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in Ankara to demand unpaid wages and entitlements.

The protest has entered its 12th day, marked by repeated police interventions and detentions. During the demonstrations, one miner was hospitalized after falling ill; the union noted that this individual had previously survived a coma following a workplace accident.

Following the Ministry's refusal to grant a meeting, Bağımsız Maden-İş organizers announced their intention to seek a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to resolve the dispute. The workers expressed frustration over being detained multiple times while attempting to voice their grievances regarding unpaid labor and safety concerns.
