Minimal Phone 2 launches with physical QWERTY keyboard
Minimal Company has launched the Minimal Phone 2, a second-generation Android smartphone designed to promote digital minimalism through intentional hardware and software. Moving away from the monochrome E-Ink display used in its predecessor, the new model features a 3.92-inch AMOLED screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate to provide smoother performance and better app compatibility.
The device retains a physical QWERTY keyboard, now featuring backlighting and customizable shortcuts. The hardware includes a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB. It also supports 5G connectivity, a 50 MP main camera, and a 3,000 mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging capabilities. Notably, the phone includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Built with an aluminum body, the Minimal Phone 2 aims to provide essential smartphone functionality without encouraging excessive screen time. The product is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, where it reached its funding target shortly after launch.
