Mining operations in Mozambique and Guinea undergo sustainability audits

Syrah Resources Limited's Balama graphite mine in Mozambique is scheduled for an independent third-party follow-up audit by SCS Global Services in October and November 2026. The audit will assess the operation against the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) criteria to ensure continued alignment with previously established performance levels. The process will include site visits, verification of management systems, and confidential interviews with workers and community stakeholders.

In Guinea, the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG) has maintained its certification under the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard V2. Following a surveillance audit conducted in June 2026, the certification confirms CBG's compliance with international standards regarding governance, environmental management, human rights, and community relations. The certified scope includes the Sangarédi mine, the railway connecting Sangarédi to Kamsar, bauxite processing facilities, and port operations.
