Minister Borche Serafimovski pushes for stable pepper purchases in Strumica

North Macedonia’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Borche Serafimovski, held meetings in Strumica with registered pepper buyers and local growers. The talks focused on ensuring a transparent, predictable purchase system, with publicly announced prices, clear classification criteria and timely payments to farmers.

Serafimovski highlighted ongoing daily inspections by the State Agricultural Inspectorate at purchase points, checking pricing, classification, measuring equipment and documentation. He pledged corrective action for any violations and announced a forthcoming meeting with owners of processing facilities to discuss capacity, planned purchase volumes and market placement for this year’s pepper harvest.
