In July 2026 the Agriculture Minister Borche Serafimovski announced that the milk‑purchase dispute affecting farmers in the Pijanec‑Maleshevski area had been resolved, signalling the government's focus on stabilising procurement for agricultural producers.

By early August, Serafimovski turned attention to the pepper sector in Strumica, outlining a plan for a transparent, predictable purchase system. He detailed daily inspections by the State Agricultural Inspectorate, public price announcements, clear classification rules and timely payments. The minister also pledged corrective action for any violations and scheduled talks with processing‑facility owners to align capacity and market placement for the upcoming pepper harvest.

Together, the two updates illustrate a broader effort by North Macedonia’s agriculture ministry to reform farm purchase mechanisms across multiple commodities, aiming for greater predictability and fairness for growers.
