Turkey reports major trade growth and expands Syria border logistics

Turkey's Ministry of Trade has reported a significant transformation in the nation's commercial landscape over the last 25 years. Total export capacity, combining goods and services, has reached approximately 400 billion dollars, with 2025 figures showing goods exports at 273.3 billion dollars and services at 122.6 billion dollars.

In Hatay, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat inaugurated a new truck park at the Cilvegözü Customs Gate with a capacity of 1,200 vehicles. This facility aims to enhance logistics and manage the increasing flow of goods. Bolat noted that trade between Turkey and Syria grew by 45 percent last year, with a further 16 percent increase recorded in the first seven months of the current year.

The reopening of transit trade corridors through Syria has enabled significant movement, including a record 398 trucks transiting through Cilvegözü to Saudi Arabia in a single day on August 12. The Minister emphasized that these corridors, spanning from the Persian Gulf through Syria and Turkey, are vital for regional energy and trade stability.
