Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş visited Hakkari to promote social support programs for families, women, and youth. During her visit, she emphasized that strong families are the foundation of a strong Turkey.

Key initiatives highlighted include a zero-interest marriage credit for individuals aged 18-29, providing up to 250,000 TL with a two-year grace period and a four-year term. In Hakkari, 1,316 young couples have already utilized this credit. Additionally, the Minister discussed updated birth assistance, which includes a one-time 5,000 TL payment for the first child, monthly support for subsequent children, and assistance for over 6,000 mothers in the region.

Göktaş also visited the ‘Rising Women Entrepreneurship Training Truck,’ a mobile initiative designed to bring digital and financial literacy, branding, and marketing education directly to women in remote areas, eliminating the need to travel to major cities like Ankara or Istanbul. To date, the program has trained 247,000 women. The Minister expressed a commitment to empowering women and ensuring social stability through economic participation and family support.
