Minister Maruarar Sirait expands housing repairs and MSME support

Indonesia's Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, is implementing housing programs aimed at both improving living conditions and stimulating local economies. In Subang Regency, the number of unfit houses being repaired has increased significantly, rising from 250 units in 2025 to 1,372 units in 2026.

Central to this effort is the ‘Gentengisasi’ program, an initiative introduced by President Prabowo Subianto. The program involves large-scale procurement of roof tiles to support housing renovations. Minister Sirait noted that this initiative provides an immediate economic boost to local MSMEs, benefiting tile artisans, truck drivers, and logistics workers. The government aims to help these small businesses scale up by providing education, financing access, and assistance in obtaining Indonesian National Standards (SNI) certification.
