Minister Mustafa Çiftçi prioritizes fight against crime and drugs

Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi has identified two primary priorities for his ministry: combating new-generation crime syndicates and fighting drug trafficking. During a visit to Bilecik, Çiftçi emphasized that the ministry is actively pursuing criminals both domestically and internationally.

Çiftçi highlighted recent cooperation with Georgia, noting a recent visit to discuss irregular migration, narcotics, and organized crime. He reported that in the first eight months of this year, 438 individuals were extradited from Georgia to Turkey. He further noted a joint operation between Turkish and Georgian police on August 23-24, which resulted in the apprehension of 22 individuals who had fled to Georgia after committing crimes in Turkey.
