Ministry of Hajj and Umrah targets lower 2027 pilgrimage costs
The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) is working to reduce the 2027 Hajj Organizing Costs (BPIH) by focusing on flight expenses, which currently account for approximately 40 percent of the total cost. Director General of Hajj Services, Ian Heriyawan, stated that the government is collaborating with the House of Representatives (DPR) to find more efficient solutions, including evaluating alternative airlines with more competitive pricing, while ensuring service quality remains uncompromised.
In a related effort to prepare pilgrims, KBIHU Minhajurrosyidin Gresik partnered with the Gresik Ministry of Hajj office to provide socialization and updates for prospective pilgrims for the 2027–2028 period. During the session, officials emphasized that pilgrims must prepare early regarding administration, physical health, mental readiness, and understanding religious procedures to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.
