Ministry of Health alerts of asbestos in carrot-shaped toy

The Italian Ministry of Health has issued an urgent alert regarding a carrot-shaped children's toy that contains sand contaminated with tremolite, a form of asbestos. The product, classified as a serious risk under the European Safety Gate system, is manufactured by Trendhaus (Model: 967176 / Batch: 2025 = CH33287 / Barcode: 4032722967176).

The toy is an orange, elastic, stress-relief item approximately 17 centimeters long. The primary danger arises if the outer casing breaks, potentially releasing contaminated sand. Authorities have warned families, nurseries, and schools to immediately remove the item from children's reach.

If the toy is intact, it should not be opened, cut, or emptied. It must not be disposed of in regular household waste; instead, it should be returned to the vendor or handled through local health authorities (ASL/ATS). If the toy is broken or sand has leaked, individuals are instructed not to sweep or vacuum the area to avoid dispersing fibers into the air, and to contact health authorities immediately for proper disposal instructions.
