Ministry of Health mobile unit provides imaging exams in Valença

A mobile imaging unit from the Ministry of Health is providing specialized diagnostic services to patients in Valença, Piauí, and 13 surrounding municipalities. The unit, equipped with multidisciplinary teams, offers CT scans and ultrasounds to facilitate early disease diagnosis and treatment planning.

This initiative is part of the ‘Agora Tem Especialistas’ program, established under Law No. 15.233/2025, aimed at expanding access to specialized medical consultations and exams. The mobile unit operates from Monday to Saturday and is capable of performing up to 60 exams per day.

To access these services, patients must be pre-scheduled and referred by their municipal health secretariats. Individuals currently waiting for exams through the Unified Health System (SUS) can request a referral at their local Basic Health Unit.
