Ministry of Home Affairs Papua local government awards Minimum Service Standards Indonesia ASRI

The Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) held the 2026 Batch II Regional Papua Outstanding Local Government Awards in Jakarta on Monday, September 28, 2026. The event aimed to recognize local governments for their performance in implementing Minimum Service Standards (SPM) and addressing strategic regional issues.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian explained that the evaluation focused on essential sectors including housing, education, health, and waste management, as well as the Indonesia ASRI program (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful). To ensure fairness regarding fiscal capacity and geographic challenges, the Ministry divides awards into six regions: Kalimantan, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Java-Bali, Maluku-Nusa Tenggara, and Papua.

Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago stated that these achievements reflect successful coordination between central and local governments in executing national programs. The event, which was held in collaboration with iNews Media Group, marks the 12th iteration of this appreciation initiative.
