Ministry of Home Affairs issues 2026 regional performance awards

The Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the 2026 Batch II Regional Outstanding Local Government Awards to encourage improved regional governance and public service performance. The evaluation process, which began earlier this year, covers several key indicators including healthcare access and quality, access to education, the implementation of the three-million-house program, and waste management and environmental cleanliness.

In the Java and Bali region, Tegal City secured second place in the category of Access and Quality of Healthcare Services, ranking behind Mojokerto and ahead of Surabaya. As a result of this achievement, the Tegal City Government received a fiscal incentive of Rp1.5 billion. Tegal Mayor Dedy Yon Supriyono stated that the award serves as motivation to continue improving public health services.

Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian emphasized that meeting Minimum Service Standards (SPM) is a critical responsibility of local governments. He noted that government presence in healthcare is specifically manifested through the improvement of community health centers (puskesmas), hospitals, and support for free health check-up programs.
