Ministry of Home Affairs reviews personnel streamlining errors

The Ministry of Home Affairs has called for a comprehensive review of personnel streamlining policies implemented under Decree 178/2024/ND-CP and Decree 67/2025/ND-CP. This directive follows findings from the State Audit Office, which identified several irregularities in how agencies and localities have handled staff reductions.

Audit reports revealed that in certain areas, such as Can Tho and Ca Mau, some units failed to conduct objective evaluations of all officials. Instead, they reportedly only assessed individuals who had already submitted resignation requests. Other issues included providing benefits to employees in units not directly involved in organizational restructuring and processing health-related resignations without sufficient medical documentation.

The Ministry emphasized that improper streamlining processes risk losing experienced personnel while retaining those who do not meet job requirements, potentially increasing future training costs and reducing organizational quality. Authorities are tasked with clarifying responsibilities for these errors while ensuring that incomplete documentation is not automatically treated as a policy violation without thorough investigation.
