Minneapolis police investigate body found near University of Minnesota

Minneapolis Park Police and Minneapolis police officers are investigating the discovery of a body in a wooded area near the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. The discovery occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday near East River Parkway and Oak Street, located south of the university and between the campus and the Mississippi River.

The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the age or gender of the deceased. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will be responsible for determining the cause of death as the investigation continues.
