Minor Hotels to launch Avani Cypress Lakes Resort in Hunter Valley

Minor Hotels has announced the development of the Avani Cypress Lakes Resort in Australia’s Hunter Valley, which is set to become the country’s largest integrated resort wellness precinct. Scheduled to launch in phases starting October 1, 2026, the project will unite the existing Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and the Elysia Wellness Retreat under the Avani brand.

The unified resort will feature 204 rooms and suites, an 18-hole golf course, and 24 meeting and event spaces capable of hosting up to 672 people. The redevelopment includes the introduction of the AvaniWell brand to Australia, transforming the Elysia Wellness Retreat into a specialized wellness center featuring 70 wellness suites, 26 treatment rooms, a magnesium pool, infrared saunas, and Pilates reformers.

Additional amenities planned for the site include three pickleball courts, an outdoor cinema, outdoor cold-plunge pools, and a pool bar. The resort will also offer new culinary experiences, such as the Chakraya restaurant focusing on Sri Lankan flavors.
