Minya officials seize 207 kg of spoiled meat in intensified inspections
On 19 July 2026, veterinary authorities in Egypt’s Minya Governorate carried out intensified inspections of markets, commercial premises, slaughterhouses and meat outlets. The operations, coordinated with the food‑supply directorates, produced 31 official reports and resulted in the seizure of 207 kg + 35 g of meat, poultry and fish deemed unsafe for human consumption, including products from unregistered slaughter.
Governor Emad Kadwani stressed the continuation of joint veterinary and supply‑department campaigns to enforce health and environmental standards, protect citizens’ health and deter commercial fraud. Legal measures were taken against the offenders, with the seized items held for further action.
