Mir Raza Ali murder probe: Family and volunteers testify before commission

A judicial commission led by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial is investigating the murder of Mir Raza Ali in Karachi. During recent proceedings, family members and Edhi Foundation volunteers provided testimony regarding the circumstances of his disappearance and subsequent death.

Mir Raza Ali’s family testified that his disappearance was noted after he deleted his social media accounts and stopped responding to messages. While his personal belongings and keys remained at home, CCTV footage reportedly showed him outside his residence and entering a vehicle. The family raised concerns regarding the conduct of certain friends, the disappearance of a partnership agreement from his study, and initial police resistance to registering a First Information Report (FIR).

Edhi volunteers testified to recovering the body in an elevated area in Gulistan-e-Johar, noting an apparent gunshot wound. To assist the investigation, the commission has released a WhatsApp number and email address for public tips, offering a reward of Rs100,000 for information deemed significant to the probe.
