Mir Raza death ruled inconsistent with suicide by forensic report
The Karachi Police Surgeon’s exhumation board has released its final report regarding the death of Mir Raza, concluding that the circumstances are inconsistent with suicide.
Forensic findings indicate that Mir Raza died from a ruptured heart caused by a penetrating gunshot wound that entered through his back and exited through the front of his chest. The report noted a high concentration of explosive particles on his back and found traces of lead and barium on both the front and back of his shirt, which are consistent with firearm discharge.
Additionally, the board detected hydrochloric acid on Mir Raza’s shirt and traces of the anesthetic drug bupivacaine in his blood. While laboratory analysis found no evidence of narcotics, sedatives, or poisonous substances, the physical evidence regarding the gunshot wound and residue has led the board to rule that the manner of death does not support a suicide conclusion.
