Miroslav Momčilović discusses new film ‘Kengur se vraća kući’

Director and screenwriter Miroslav Momčilović held a press conference regarding the upcoming film ‘Kengur se vraća kući’ (Kangaroo Returns Home). During the event, Momčilović clarified that the film is not a direct sequel to the 2004 film ‘Kad porastem biću Kengur’, but rather a ‘sports romantic tragedy’ and a type of cinematic spin-off featuring the same protagonist in a different setting.

Momčilović noted that while the original 2003 film was intended to be set in Novi Beograd, it was ultimately filmed in Voždovac due to financial constraints. The new production successfully fulfills the original vision of being set in Novi Beograd. Actor Andrija Kuzmanović, who stars in the film, discussed the intensive two-year preparation process required to develop his character and the relationships within the story.

The production team emphasized that the film explores themes of friendship, growing up, and a changing society, aiming to present a distinct narrative rather than a traditional continuation of previous works.
