Serbian film “3 Weeks After” wins Europa Cinemas Label at Karlovy Vary

The Serbian feature “3 Weeks After” (original title “3 nedelje posle”), directed by Miroslav Terzić, received the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European Film at the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. A three‑member jury praised the film’s authentic portrayal of contemporary adolescents and its strong ensemble performances, noting that the award will bring additional promotion and incentives for European exhibitors to extend the film’s theatrical life.

The accolade guarantees support from the Europa Cinemas network across Europe. Producer Snežana van Hauvelingen said the label is “the most coveted prize because it helps the film reach audiences throughout the continent.” Following the festival, the film is slated for a regional premiere in Pula, Croatia, on 13 July and a wider Serbian theatrical release beginning 26 November, distributed locally by MegaCom Film. The production is a co‑venture involving companies from Serbia, Bulgaria, Italy, Croatia and Luxembourg.
