Mirpur Rally Highlights Final Phase of AJK Election Campaign

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is set to address a large public rally in Mirpur, the economic hub of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as the Pakistan Muslim League‑N intensifies its final push for the upcoming AJK general elections. He will be joined by senior party figures, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and will outline the party’s promises on infrastructure, tourism, healthcare and education.

Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, also delivered a mammoth election rally in Mirpur, stressing the need for equal rights for the people of Kashmir and recalling the PPP’s historical contributions. He described the election as one of the most significant in the region’s history and urged voters to choose a future that reduces hardship and advances development.

Both rallies underscore the heightened political activity in AJK as parties vie for voter support ahead of the decisive election that will shape the region’s governance.
