Manuel Gonzalez wins Moto2 San Marino Grand Prix at Misano

Manuel Gonzalez secured his fifth Moto2 victory of the season at the San Marino Grand Prix held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Gonzalez capitalized on significant opening-lap chaos to take the lead, eventually winning by over two seconds.

The race began with a major collision at Turn 1 involving the entire front row. Rookie Angel Piqueras caused the incident by making contact with Daniel Holgado, which subsequently took out pole-sitter Senna Agius. While the riders were uninjured, the crash removed several championship contenders from the race.

Collin Veijer finished in second place, marking a strong comeback, while Barry Baltus secured third despite receiving a Long Lap penalty for track limit violations. With this win, Gonzalez extends his championship lead to 47.5 points over his closest rival, Izan Guevara.
