San Marino Grand Prix racing events

The San Marino Grand Prix weekend at the Misano World Circuit has seen varying results across multiple racing categories. During initial practice and qualifying sessions, Le0pard Racing riders faced difficulties, with Adrián Fernández starting 10th and Guido Pini starting 18th. Fernández noted difficulties finding pace in dry conditions compared to mixed weather. In the MotoGP category, Raul Fernandez of Trackhouse Aprilia reported a disappointing session, placing 12th fastest and requiring him to compete in Q1 due to personal cornering errors. In Moto2, Collin Veijer secured sixth place in qualifying with a time of 1’34.099, opting to run solo laps to avoid tactical waiting games.

However, the Moto2 class faced significant disciplinary action from FIM MotoGP Stewards. Taiyo Furusato received the most severe penalty, forcing him to start from the back of the grid following his third season violation for slow riding or obstructing competitors. Other penalties included nine-position drops for Tony Arbolino and Adrián Huertas, a six-position penalty for Izan Guevara, and a three-position penalty for Alberto Ferrández. Eight Moto3 riders, including Marcos Uriarte, Ryusei Yamanaka, and Zen Mitani, also received sanctions.

In the Moto2 race, Manuel González secured his fifth victory of the season, capitalizing on first-lap chaos involving a collision by Ángel Piqueras that caused pole-sitter Senna Agius and Daniel Holgado to crash. González took the lead from Collin Veijer on the fifth lap and finished over two seconds ahead of the Dutchman, who took second. Barry Baltus secured third despite a Long Lap Penalty. This win extends González’s championship lead to 47.5 points over Izan Guevara. In the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, Kiandra Ramadhipa crashed on lap 11 of the first race. Ramadhipa had started from 20th position following a penalty for riding too slowly, which dropped him from his sixth-place qualifying position.
