Miskolc orders emergency cleanup after UEFA match generates 9 m³ waste
After a Thursday evening UEFA Conference League qualifier between Hapoel Tel‑Aviv and Ludogorec Razgrad at the DVTK Stadium in Miskolc, roughly nine cubic metres of rubbish were left by fans. Mayor József Tóth‑Szántai announced that the city ordered an extraordinary cleanup of the stadium area and the nearby South‑Kilián district, with municipal workers and the city police beginning work late in the evening and continuing through the night.
The mayor said the cleanup costs will not be borne by local residents; the city will seek reimbursement from those responsible. Security for the match was provided by the Budapest standby police, and the mayor called for greater involvement of the Miskolc police headquarters in future international events, citing local police knowledge as valuable for safety and smooth operation.
