Miss Vietnam 2026 Southern Preliminaries Showcase Young Contestants

On 1 August 2026 the southern round of the Miss Vietnam 2026 pageant was held in several venues across the Mekong Delta, including Vĩnh Long University, the Vietnam Aviation Academy in Ho Chi Minh City and FPT University in Cần Thơ. The event was opened by Phùng Công Sưởng, editor‑in‑chief of Báo Tiền Phong and head of the organising committee, who stressed that the competition seeks to celebrate individuality, intelligence and social responsibility rather than a single beauty ideal.

Four highlighted contestants were introduced: Trịnh Ngọc Huyền, a 2007‑born business administration student and former university beauty queen; Lê Phương Nghi, a second‑year student at the Foreign Trade University branch in Ho Chi Minh City and current campus beauty queen; Nguyễn Thảo Nguyên, a 22‑year‑old from Nghệ An now studying digital media and marketing at the University of Queensland in Australia; and Nguyễn Lê Nguyên Phương, a flight attendant who recently completed a master’s in international economics at the Foreign Trade University. Their diverse academic and community‑service backgrounds were highlighted as examples of the pageant’s four core values – appearance, culture, intellect and contribution – which the organisers aim to promote among Vietnam’s youth.
