Missing Karnataka engineer traced to Mumbai after 40-day search

Parvez Dharwad, an Assistant Executive Engineer with the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL), has been located in Mumbai after being missing since September 13. Gadag police traced the engineer following a search that spanned multiple states, including Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

Dharwad had reportedly left a note addressed to the KRIDL managing director prior to his disappearance, citing severe work-related distress. In the letter, he alleged that a shortage of government funds and delayed payments for completed projects had stalled various works. He also claimed he was facing mental distress due to pressure from subcontractors and group leaders who had visited his home and office regarding outstanding amounts.

Investigators used mobile network locations and CCTV footage to track his movements. Dharwad reportedly traveled through several northern states to avoid being found. Police confirmed he was in good health upon discovery and have since handed him over to his relatives following questioning.
