Disappearance of KRIDL engineer in Karnataka

Overview

Parvez Dharwad, an Assistant Executive Engineer for Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL), went missing from Gadag in mid-September. Before his disappearance, Dharwad reportedly left a note for the KRIDL Managing Director expressing intentions to end his life due to mental distress. He cited prolonged delays in fund disbursement and intense pressure from contractors and subcontractors regarding outstanding payments as primary causes for his struggle.

Following a 40-day search that spanned multiple states, including Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, police traced Dharwad to Mumbai. Investigators utilized CCTV footage and mobile network locations to track his movements through several northern states. Authorities confirmed that Dharwad was in good health upon being located and subsequently handed him over to his relatives.
