Missing persons searches underway in Santa Catarina

Authorities and families in Santa Catarina are searching for two missing individuals.

José Kaique Martins de Azevedo, 23, was last seen on Tuesday, September 15, in the Barra Sul beach area of Balneário Camboriú. His family has reported that his phone is unreachable and they have received no information regarding his whereabouts since approximately 10:45 a.m. that day.

In Joinville, searches continue for 62-year-old Antônio Tadeu Rodrigues, who disappeared on Sunday, September 13. Security footage captured him leaving a bar on a bicycle near the Cubatão River in the Jardim Paraíso neighborhood around 9:40 p.m. His belongings were later found near the water, leading to concerns that he may have fallen into the river. Volunteer firefighters have utilized sonar in their search efforts, with further mapping and searches scheduled for the riverbanks.
