Missouri State Fair attracts 333,000 visitors and raises $385,000 for youth

The 2026 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia drew 333,489 attendees over its 11-day run, according to Director Jason Moore. The event featured more than 29,000 entries in livestock and competitive exhibits, with over 3,000 youth exhibitors from 4-H and FFA participating.

The fair’s Sale of Champions and Best of Missouri Sale raised more than $385,000 to support youth in agriculture. Major infrastructure highlights included the opening of the climate-controlled, multipurpose Governor Michael L. Parson Arena, which hosted rodeo events, animal races, and bull riding.

Future plans for the fairgrounds include 2027 upgrades such as an ancillary barn to connect the Parson Arena with the sheep barn, creating a large multi-use complex. Additional improvements will include road upgrades and the addition of nearly 500 campsites.
