Mistral AI partnership expands to French government ministries
The French government has signed a new contract with the AI startup Mistral to deploy artificial intelligence across several ministries. This partnership follows the June rollout of an AI assistant used by two million public officials.
Three priority use cases are scheduled for deployment in the coming weeks. These include enhancing cybersecurity defenses following recent data breaches, such as the hack of the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) which affected 678,000 individuals.
Additionally, the Ministry of Justice plans to test AI for processing mass litigation to alleviate court congestion, while the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Bercy) aims to use the technology to better identify fraudulent activities. The project involves a six-million-euro investment planned for the 2026-2027 period.
