Mistral AI secures major partnerships with ESA and TotalEnergies

Mistral AI has entered into two significant strategic partnerships aimed at advancing artificial intelligence applications within European industrial and scientific sectors.

The European Space Agency (ESA) and Mistral AI signed a letter of intent in Paris to deepen collaboration in AI. This framework seeks to combine Mistral’s expertise in advanced AI models and infrastructure with ESA’s scientific and operational engineering. The partnership aims to enhance European technological leadership and resilience, focusing on areas such as Earth observation data processing, mission design support, and operational decision-making.

Separately, TotalEnergies and Mistral AI have announced a three-year collaboration involving an investment exceeding 100 million euros. The partnership will establish a joint scientific laboratory to develop next-generation AI models, specifically utilizing agentic AI. These models are intended to assist geoscientists in exploring, characterizing, and developing oil and gas deposits by processing massive datasets and integrating nearly a century of technical expertise from TotalEnergies.
