Mitsubishi Motors unveils fifth-generation Pajero SUV

Mitsubishi Motors has officially unveiled the fifth-generation Pajero, marking the return of the iconic SUV nameplate after a multi-year hiatus. The new model features a sculpted, muscular design with T-shaped light signatures and is built on a rugged ladder-frame chassis. It is equipped with a 2.4-liter MIVEC diesel engine and a newly developed eight-speed automatic transmission, alongside the Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system.

President Keisuke Kishiura confirmed that the Pajero will expand into a family of off-road vehicles, including two additional smaller, more compact SUV models. Mitsubishi is also exploring various powertrains for the Pajero lineup, including traditional gasoline, self-charging hybrid, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

The rollout is scheduled to begin in Thailand later this year, followed by launches in Japan and Australia. In 2027, the Pajero is expected to reach markets in ASEAN, Latin America, and the Middle East.
