Mitsubishi Motors announces Pajero SUV revival and L200 return

Mitsubishi Motors has announced the return of its flagship Pajero SUV and the relaunch of the L200 pickup truck in Europe.

The new Pajero, unveiled as a next-generation flagship, marks the model's return after a seven-year hiatus. Built on an improved ladder-frame chassis derived from the Triton pickup, the SUV features a 2.4-liter clean diesel turbo engine producing 480 Nm of torque and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It will incorporate the S-AWC (Super-All Wheel Control) system previously used in the Lancer Evolution. Production is set to begin in Thailand in 2026, with subsequent rollouts to Japan, Australia, and approximately 100 other countries.

Simultaneously, the Mitsubishi L200 is returning to the European and UK markets following a five-year absence. The European lineup will feature a 2.4-liter biturbo diesel engine delivering 201 hp and 470 Nm of torque. Available in dual-cab configurations, the L200 will offer different four-wheel-drive systems depending on the trim level, including the Super Select 4WD-II system. In Germany, pricing for the Diamant trim starts at €39,990, while the UK flagship Barbarian starts at £39,995.
